The Wizard, The Witch, and The Wild One

Catch up on our first complete book, the Wizard, the Witch, and the Wild One

Fourteen years after their adventure as children (see the Children’s Adventure), Suvi, Ame, and Eursulon reconnect in a quest to break a curse that has overtaken Ame. As they adventure off they encounter great powers - both Spirit and Wizard, corrupt and pure of heart - and become embroiled in a conflict that could tear apart their world as they know it. Full of emotional turns, hard decisions, and the joys and growing pains of found family, this story is a poignant tour de force from 4 powerhouse storytellers.

Start the story here:

Meet your heroes…

  • A black woman with medium brown skin and teal hair wears teal pants with a royal blue overcoat, gloves, and knee-high boots. She holds a light blue staff with shards of crystal at the top and is taking off the glove on her other hand with her mouth.

    Suverin Kedberiket (Suvi)

isplayed by Aabria Iyengar. Suvi is a bright young wizard of the Citadel and apprentice to the Archmage Silence. She is the only apprentice who has had such promise that she was allowed to skip much of the training that others must endure. Her parents were killed when she was young so she was essentially adopted by her parents’ best friend, the Wizard Steel, who is also the Sword of the Citadel. Cunning and ambitious but also loyal and thoughtful, she walks through the world with the power of the Citadel behind her and a fierce love of her friends propelling her.

  • A woman with pale skin and black hair wears a white and red dress with long sleeves and knee high white socks under red boots. She hovers in the air in front of a twilight cottage above an orange fox that glares sideways. Stars hover over her hands.

    Ame

is played by Erika Ishii. Ame is a witch and the apprentice to Grandmother Wren who is the Witch of Toma. She doesn’t know who her parents are or where she came from so Grandmother Wren, Suvi, and Eursulon are her family. She practices rituals wherever she goes to honor the spirits and teaches the locals how to as well. Kind and sweet, but sometimes naive and headstrong, her heart leads the way as she navigates a wider world than she imagined. Spoiler for Arc 1: She becomes the Witch of the World’s Heart and a member of the Coven of Elders.

  • A large brown bearlike creature with pointy ears and panther-like feet stands up, clad in all brown traveling attire and a green cape. He stands in front of the woods. He holds a silver sword in one hand and has his other hand over his heart.

    Eursulon

is played by Lou Wilson. He is a young Spirit, also known as a Wild One, who was way-shadowed so he cannot return to the spirit world. His father was the Great Bear and sister is Kalaya, also known as Badger. He wears a glamour in public and at the beginning of the story has lost connection to his breath as well, which is the source of his magical power. Loyal and protective over his “sisters”, Eursulon finds his way through a world that is not entirely his but with the knowledge that he is called to make it better for his friends and his kind.

Want a reminder of what you’ve missed? Read below but tread carefully and beware of spoilers!

Fourteen years after their adventure as children, Suvi and Ame discover that Ame has been cursed and go on a quest to find Eursulon, who has a sword that can break it. In the process they encounter great Spirits, wizards with a lust for notoriety, and start to see the tensions between Wizard culture and the Spirits who used to be respected across Umora.

Listen to episode 1:

Arc 1

In the Citadel, the center of the Wizards’ power, Suvi rises through the ranks as Ame recovers from the physical toll of her curse being broken and the newfound knowledge of her place in the world. Our trio have their first moments of peace and frivolity among the Citadel’s many pleasures until Eursulon discovers a sinister “collection” of spirits trapped in the Citadel by one of their own. Ame is called to a meeting of her Coven but fissures crack between our trio as Ame’s potential destruction is prophesied and Ame, Suvi, and Eursulon are each called to duties that are, at times, at odds amidst a war starting to bubble.

Arc 2

A small silver flying plane with a person in blue over it, in front of grey dunes of sand and an elevated city that shines in gold.

At the North Pole where the Coven of Elders congregates, Ame argues for her life and station to be spared as the Coven looks to remove her and move against the wizards of the Citadel. The Man in Black, a powerful deathly spirit, entreats aid from our heroes but they refuse. At an impasse with the Coven of Elders, our trio must flee for their lives to escape Indri’s wrath and continue on with their urgent work.

The war between Wizards and Spirits has reached new heights and our heroes become embroiled in the action of battle. Suvi’s blindness to the Citadel’s atrocities is wrenched away as she witnesses their unthinkable battle methods and she learns the truth about her parents’ real allegiances and who cursed Ame. Our heroes save innocents from Wizards and Spirits alike and choose their side in the oncoming war.

Three people (one a bear-man) look up at a giant many-legged beast that looks like a mix between a squid and a spider. All in front of a grey sky streaked in red fire.

The cast dives into each episode to reflect and talk process, surprise moments, and what comes next. Often they get sidetracked by hot NPCs and bit their way into new Fireside Chat lore. Most fireside chats are Patreon exclusive.

Highlights include:

Public fireside chats at the end of each arc.

Bag It or Tag It, a new Bachelor-style system built by the one and only Lou Wilson where a PC (Aabria) must choose whether to Bag It (leave romantically with an NPC) or Tag It (take home a sponsored prize). Hosted by Craig Sumgee (Lou), this one is public!

Horner Corner is a frequent segment where Brennan, Aabria, Erika, and Lou play smash or pass with the NPCs of Umora. Check out the special episode with our first ever guest, Grant O’Brien!
